Welcome to the Department of Biological and Agricultural Sciences at Kaimosi Friends University, School of Science. The Department of Biological and Agricultural Sciences is located behind School of Health Sciences, about 100 metres from the University Main Campus gate.

The Department of Biological and Agricultural Sciences offers programs in Biology, Microbiology and Agriculture. These include Bachelor of Science Biology, Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics and Resource Management and Masters of Science in Microbiology.

Besides offering its own programs, the department also services Biology and Agriculture courses offered in the School of Education and Social Sciences under different subject combinations including Biology with Chemistry, Biology with Mathematics and Biology with Agriculture.

The department is committed to offering competitive demand-driven courses to increase employability of our graduates; 95% of our students having secured jobs immediately after graduating. The department has spacious laboratory facilities with the state-of-the-art equipment.

The department embraces advancement in digital technology in both teaching and research. It has highly qualified faculty staff capable of teaching, mentorship, training and supervising both undergraduate and postgraduate students

In collaboration with other stakeholders, the department promotes research with a keen interest to solving global health challenges through research in alternative treatment of microbe related diseases, lifestyle diseases, water quality, sustainable food security, smart agriculture and restoration of endangered food species.
