The department of Mathematics and Statistics offers a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Economics with Information Technology. This is an instructional programme that provides classroom, laboratory and field experience in Mathematics and Economics blended with information technology with a view to exploiting and harnessing knowledge for sustainable development. The courses offered in the first two years of the programme ensure that students have a solid foundation in both Mathematics and Economics. The elective courses offered in the third and fourth year of study allow the students to adapt the degree to their own interests, ambitions and ability by focusing on their area of interest.
The overall goal of the programme is to produce mathematics and economics graduates capable of offering solutions based on mathematical and economic ideas and concepts to real life problems for the benefit of humanity. The programme also seeks to prepare students for lifelong learning experience by integrating technological advancements into mathematics and economics for addressing present and future challenges

Applicants for admission into the degree programme should meet the minimum University entrance requirement of either a mean grade of C+ or equivalent and above in Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) Examination,
In addition, the candidate must have at least C+ in Mathematics/Chemistry/Physics
The duration of the program shall normally be four (4) academic years.
Teaching methods in all units shall include lectures, field trips, seminars, tutorials, discussions, and practical.
